2024 Solo mythic kil

Is Kil'Jaeden broken in Tomb of Sargeras ? Everytime I reach the dark part of the fight, where Illidan is supposed to come help you, he doesn't spawn. I manage to find all the shadows and kill them, but nothing happens. Is it broken or am I missing something ? Trying to solo him in heroic mode. It's basically a dps check now. .
