Summer 2023 P-EBT for students in grades K-12 in the 2022-2023 school year: The first issuance of summer 2023 P-EBT will be made as early as the end of June 2023, depending on when schools submit student data.In response to this challenge, Congress created the P-EBT program. P-EBT is a benefit for children who received free or reduced-price school meals in the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school year, but their school was closed. It provides benefits on a P-EBT card, which works like a debit card and can be used to purchase eligible food.All P-EBT benefits for the school year and the summer must be distributed by September 30, 2023. Just like in 2022, The Georgia Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) will announce details about summer P-EBT distribution soon.
