Of the two there are major differences in the way that the radio works. The FTdx10 is a Hybrid radio utilizing Roofing Filters and conversion whereas the FT-710, more like the ICOM IC-7300 is a true, straight, SDR radio.. Actually hybrid SDR's are better than pure SDR's as demonstrated with the 7300, the FT DX 10 handles better noisy environment and doesn't get overloaded when the 7300 does because of that hybrid arquitecture. Featurewise, the 710 will sit between the 991A and the FTDX10 so it may be the more natural price point going forward minus any additional inflationary, or global supply chain adjustments upward. I purchased my ftdx-10 from HRO on Dec 15, 2021 for $1399. Same deal -$100 Yaesu -$200 from HRO.
